Behind the Badge: What Fleets Should Really Know about ISS Scores

And Here's Your Chance to Ask The Trooper!

Date: April 28, 1:00pm - April 28, 2026 2:00pm CT

Here's something most fleet safety and compliance leaders never get access to:

A former Colorado State Patrol Sergeant and a former Maine State Police Lieutenant — sitting down together, on camera, answering your questions about what actually happens during a roadside inspection.

Not a sales pitch. Not a slide deck full of things you already know. A real conversation about what goes on behind the curtain — from the people who used to stand on the other side of it.

Here’s Your Chance to Ask a State Trooper—Submit Your Question When You Register

We collect questions at registration and answer the best ones live. You want to know why your driver got cited for that? Why one state pulls in trucks at a 90 ISS score while another waits until 99? What the inspector is actually looking at on their screen before your truck even rolls to a stop? Ask it.

We’ll spend the first part of the webinar giving you the context — how CSA and SMS scores feed your ISS score, how pull-in rates actually vary by state, what the inspector’s software shows them, and what Level I, II, and III inspections mean for your fleet. Then we open it up.

What you’ll walk away with:
  • A clear picture of how your ISS score is calculated — and exactly what pushes it into “Inspect” territory (75+)
  • Why carriers with a score under 49 still get pulled in — and what to do when that happens
  • The specific violations that show up most at roadside (brakes, lights, tires, ELD, HOS) and how they compound into your CSA score
  • What triggers an Out-of-Service order — and what it means for your operation
  • Practical steps to protect your fleet before the next inspection
